State Supervisors’ Meeting
This is a meeting for State level supervisors to share common concerns.
If you are a State supervisor, please plan to attend.

CS Breakfast & Business Meeting –
A gathering to conduct the annual business of the Council, present
our Awards, and install the officers for the upcoming year. The cost
of the meal is included in the CS Forum fee.

Workshop Session #1 – Focus: Developing 21st Century
Skills – Leadership
Workshop Title: Growing Leaders for the 21st Century
Presenters: Peter Andrews – TSA President, George Lavelle –
TECA President, and John R. Brown, DTE – ITEA-CS President
Description: Presidents will discuss the leadership
building opportunities available for use in school programs and
the implications for the future of our profession.
A group interactive discussion with the presenters will follow regarding
the vertical coordination of each group’s activities.
12:00 to 1:20 p.m.
ITEA-CS Luncheon – At local restaurant (Sponsored
by Harvey Dean, PITSCO)
The meal is included in the CS Forum – Sign-up for the CS Forum
when you register for the conference.
1:30 to 2:20 p.m.
Workshop Session #2 – Focus: Designing the Green
Environment
Workshop Title: How Green Are Your Schools?
Presenter: John Reed – Construction Project Manager, Brandywine
School District
Description: Discussion of an “accidentally
green” construction project and the implications for LEED
(Leadership in Engineering & Environmental Design) certified
facility planning for the 21st century. Mr. Reed will discuss the
things every local leader should consider and communicate to construction
engineers when planning a new or renovated facility.

Workshop Title: Understanding and Growing Organizational Culture
Presenter: Judy Hawthorn, 2004 President, Technology Ed. Assoc. of
PA
Technology Education Dept. Chair, Cedar Cliff High School
Past President - Technology Education Association of PA Leadership
Council
Description: Why is ‘simply surviving’
not a growth strategy for an organization or it’s leaders?
A successful organization requires an understanding of how subgroups
function through the development of communications and assessment,
assisting in the development of leadership strategies for ongoing
improvement, and supporting symbiotic relationships among the various
groups. There will be references to successful models of volunteer
organizations.
3:45 to 4:15 p.m.
TECA/CS Job Fair –.
This will be a time for prospective candidates and employers to interact
in mini-interviews. Teachers and future teachers looking for employment
should bring their résumés and dress to impress. All
participants are welcome to stay for the roundtable reception immediately
following this session.
4:15 to 5:30 p.m.
CS Roundtable Reception – [Partial funding from
Project Lead the Way]
All workshop presenters from the day will be present for an informal
question and discussion session. This is a chance to exchange ideas
and network with a broad spectrum of ITEA professionals.
Friday, March 19
4:00 to 5:30 p.m.
Steering Committee Meeting –
Members of ITEA\CS will meet to discuss committee work and plan for
next year’s conference program.
Saturday, March 20
9:00 to 11:00 a.m.
Post-conference Steering Committee Meeting –
Breakfast to be arranged by CS at conference (not part of package)
